An eventful history
75 years of the Quelle Hotel ~ A look back into history
Originally a small guesthouse consisting of seven rooms and a cosy pub, the Quelle Hotel (the German word ‘Quelle’ means ‘source’) has since become an unrivalled five-star spa resort.
1947
Water concession and confirmation of the Badl water source
1950
A small inn with 7 rooms and a small restaurant, opened by Benedikt Steinmair and his wife Elisabeth Felderer.
Hot and cold water and the first central heating system in the Puster Valley.
1965
Extension of dining room, veranda & 3 garage spaces
1970
Enlargement to 40 beds and first certificate for ice cream sales
1980
Extension to 58 beds, new kitchen, parlours, restaurant & dining room, indoor swimming pool with fitness room and 2 saunas – Hotel Quelle ***
80s
Erich takes over the management of the hotel in 1981 and marries his Margit in 1984
1994
Extension of the beauty and wellness area and new rooms (thus a total of 75 beds) - Hotel Quelle ****
2002
Construction of the underground car park, the new indoor and outdoor pool, 12 sun suites and 5 suites Blumenschlössl
2004
Renovation of the main building; member of the Belvita Leading Wellnesshotels
2006
Receipt of the additional "4 stars superior”
2007
New hotel wing with 17 Alpine Suites and the garden restaurant; extension the kitchen, the underground car park and the Quelle SPA

Receipt of the 5th hotel star, Manuel Steinmair takes over the management of the hotel, restyling restaurant and lobby, as well as the underground car park
